Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre holds grand opening of new health centre
Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) held its grand opening ceremonies last week for the new health centre opening in November 2010.
Construction of the new facility began in 2008. It will have 60 inpatient beds, an ambulatory care treatment and diagnostic area, a visiting specialist area, screening and diagnostic mammography services, palliative care area, additional complex continuing care beds, withdrawal management services and waiting, gathering and ceremonial spaces.
The new health centre will replace two older hospital facilities and several SLMHC offices in Sioux Lookout- meaning all key services will be united on one site.
